To celebrate the groundbreaking for the future home of Concorde we were given the honour of filming the whole event from the air. Over 200 people turned up to be filmed on the grounds of the new Bristol Aerospace Centre as they formed a to scale outline of that most British of icons, Concorde.
Everyone was a real sport agreeing to be filmed including the air ambulance and air police service operating within metres of out flight path at Filton aerodrome. All our filming went exactly as planned, helped by perfect flying weather and the super helpful teams from Bristol Aero who will eventually run the new centre, and construction company Kier responsible for building it.
When finished the Bristol Aerospace Centre will be a new industrial heritage museum and learning centre based at the disused aerodrome at Filton, to the north of Bristol. It will tell the story of the region’s world-class aerospace industry – past, present and future. Construction is expected to finish just before winter when we plan to return to film Concorde itself as it is moved into its new home.
